So I have been out of commission for almost 3 weeks. I woke up 2 Thursdays ago with a terrible stomach bug. No explosion of fluids but a gut wrenching stomach crap that would come and go in waves every 5 to 10 minutes. The debilitating nature of the ailment mostly subsided by Tuesday, however a lingering crinkle in my gut lining kept me from training for about a week. After the week a started to walk a bit, venture to CrossFit, and then BOOM-smacked with a debilitating food poisoning that knocked me over for 3 days. And I mean Knocked DOWN. I had to leave work and drive 50 miles to the town that the wifey and I were staying in for the week as we tested our new commute. By the time i arrived at the hotel I looked like one of the kids from The Sandlot after they exited the roller coaster after trying Chew. AND I MEAN COVERED.

Today I woke up at the crack of 4:30am and made it down to the gym for a brisk 2 hour walk on the treadmill, 7.5 miles. Felt good. This afternoon I will venture out to CrossFit and see how I fair. Hopefully I shall be just dandy.

I am on the hunt now for a vegan Kefir. Kefir, for those who don’t know, is a fermented live cultured version of yogurt but more looser, having the consistency of slightly thickened milk. My wife purchased me some while I was ill and I have to say that I have really taken a liking to it as an additive to my morning routine. Oddly, there is just something about the cultures, fermented-flavor, and texture that I find very uplifting in the mornings. It’s like taking a nice smooth shot of health and is a very complementary way to wash down my (ahem) “delicious” juices of fresh chlorophyll and what-nots lol
